Sleep not much

Well the sleep in the Huber household is completely messed up due to the broken bone in Taylor's case, due to over time in Fabian's case, and pregnancy in my case.

Fabian use to get up at 6:30 and go to bed at 1:00. Lately he gets up at 6:30 and he's asleep by 11:00/11:30.

Taylor use to get up at 7:30 have a nap from 12:30-3:00 and in bed by 8:30/9:00. Now she's up any where between 8:00-10:00 she has a nap at whatever time she wants yesterday it was 3:30 today it was 7:00 naps for about 2 hours. Then she's up till 1:30/2:00.

Me was getting up at 9:00. That gave Taylor time to eat breakfast with dad and watch Blue's Clues and Dora from 8:00-9:00. I'd usually lay on the couch and watch Taylor play and watch the tree house network with her, some times I'd talk on the phone. I'd try and nap when she did but usually never worked I'd fall asleep right before Taylor would wake up. Then I'd go to bed at the same time as Fabian but not usually fall asleep till 2:00. Now I just try and sleep any time I can. I can usually catch little cat naps all day long. Our house is completely baby proofed so Taylor can't get into to much trouble. But between Taylor's broken arm and my sciatica the sleep is not much at all.

It would be nice if we could all get back on to a routine again.

That Didn't Last Long

Today I decided to take Taylor out even though we are potty training and she's got the fractured arm. We went to blooming gals and the to Super Store as I was looking for clothes for Taylor I heard a thump and turned around to see what she pulled off the shelf, well it was nothing she pulled off her cast. So Taylor and I got to spend the whole afternoon in the ER again. Not on my list of fun things to do.

This time they put the cast all the way up past the elbow. It's weird cause the doctor that seen her on Saturday said that she really didn't need a cast, so I thought we could get away with maybe not putting one on today. But the doctor we had today said that she absolutely had to get one put back on. I don't get why doctors contradict each other so often.

I took Taylor to my parents and she fell asleep on the way there. Which is nice because her sleep schedule is completely out of wack. Yesterday she slept in, then fell asleep at 7:00pm and woke up at 10:30pm then stayed up till 2:30am. Not going to push anything on her sleep. When she woke up from her nap today she cried for at least an hour and any of you who know Taylor know that's not like her. She also didn't use the potty at all but like I said I'm not going to push her right now. I can only imagine how uncomfortable she must be. I'll just make her life as easy as possible. That's all for now. I will post some pictures of the new cast soon.

Some New Pics Of Taylor

Here are some new pictures of Taylor with the cast on. Today was weird she had a couple of accidents peeing in her panties but she did poop on the potty. She didn't have a nap today either and just fell asleep at 7:00 so tonight should prove interesting.

Bad Day For Taylor Worse For Daddy

Today being Saturday I got to go and play darts. I got a message from Fabian that Taylor had fallen off this stupid step stool that we have for her so she can wash her hands and brush her teeth. She loves this steep stool it has to go everywhere with her if she can convince me or daddy to let her have it. She usually doesn't get away with it with me, but she's a daddies girl. Daddy feels absolutely horrible about the whole thing I just keep reassuring him it could have happened to anyone. Anyway I had a gut feeling he should take her to the hospital. And they gave her any x-ray, it wasn't broken but it did have a kink in the bone. The doctor did say it was fractured but not broken (beats me). So she didn't need a cast unless we wanted to prevent her from potentially bumping it and hurting it even more. She was in a lot of pain and as soon as the cast went on it seemed to not hurt her any more. And she loved getting it put on because it looks like a sock which we pretend are puppets. Which she loves. And its bright pink. It only has to be on fro 2 weeks, so that's a good thing. We'll get some pictures and post later.

Potty Training Week 2 Done

Well its been two long weeks she still has the odd accident and doesn't poop much any more but for the most part we have it mastered. We still put diapers on if we go out more than a half hour but that is rare. Actually the only time we have done that was today. For good reason which will be in the next post. So we don't really have to bug her to sit on the potty any more just suggest it. Cause if she doesn't want to go she gets mad if we make her sit. Thats all for the potty training.

Potty Training Week 1 Days 4 & 5

Two more good days of potty training again no accidents. Taylor does try and help by emptying the potty and sometimes spills it but other than that she has been very successful. Today she did have her first poop on the potty which is good because I was beginning to think she was constipated. She has been very grumpy and not wanting to go on the potty much any more but still no accidents so we are trying not to pressure her.
On another note I went to the doctor today who confirmed I do in fact have sciatica. But I found a new natural drug which is safe to use according to the doctor and is good for so many things. Anyone who has any ailments of any sort should check out emu oil on the net. You can use it for pretty much anything that would bother a person.

Potty Training Week 1 Day 3

Today was great. Taylor didn't pee or poop on the floor once. She did pee in the potty and spilt it on the floor but nonetheless made it to the potty. We went and bought some big girl underwear the absorbent kind. She doesn't want to seem to sleep with a diaper so we will try tomorrow, she's never wet when she gets up from a nap anyway. We also got some pj's that she won't be able to take off at bed time. Thats all for now.

Potty Training Week 1 Day 2

Today was a much better day for potty training. Besides our holy crap episode. Taylor only had 2 other accidents and 2 success' so she's just about even now. It doesn't seem as bad as it was last week. She goes every half hour instead of every 15 or 20 minutes a lot less accidents. And she will sit on the potty when she thinks she has to go too. Since the holy crap episode we moved the baby video monitor so now instead of only being able to see her bed we can see a lot more still not the whole room but enough to catch her before the room would ever get that bad again. Getting better so the posts may be every other day, although I like posting every day.

Holy Crap

Today we put Taylor down for her afternoon nap. One that she didn't need and boy did we pay for it. We put a diaper on her and layed her down. About a half hour later Fabian went to check on her and there was poop every where. She took her diaper off. It was on the crib, on the back of her bed (honestly don't know how that much got on the bed alone), it was on the floor, it was on the back of the door, the closet door and covered Taylor head to toe. Fabian took her to the bathroom to clean her up and I was going to clean the bedroom but for some reason I kept gagging (the first since she time I've done that since she was born). So Fabian took over the cleaning and I took over cleaning Taylor it took two baths one to clean the poop off of her and one to rinse her off. Fabian cleaned and cleaned but it all looks good now. I thought some of you might get a laugh out of our little misfortune. But hopefully not Tamara cause you still have that to look forward too. By the way "The SpotBot" is an amazing little tool to clean up accidents such as this. *little hint for Tamara*
Well will more than like have one more post about the potty training today so that's all for now.

Potty Training Week One Day One

Well I didn't spend a whole lot of time with Taylor today. She had a few accidents yesterday but she did sit on the potty apparently not every 20 minutes or half hour but whenever daddy would think of it. But she did go sit on it twice by herself and went pee once. So things are looking up when it comes to potty training sleep on the other hand what happened to that I'm not sleeping Taylors not sleeping very frustrating. Well will have another post when she goes to bed for the night.

Week one potty training done

Today was good we only had one accident and she went one the potty once. Its a lot better with the little potty she will sit for a whole episode of Blues Clue's or Dora. Anyway it was good till dad came home. Fabian went to work yesterday then went to Calgary so when he got home at 6 it was a little overwhelming for Taylor. She had two accidents back to back but that's ok we know that its cause she's excited. But we have come to far now there is no turning back. And its the weekend again so Fabians turn to take over the potty for the weekend I'm about to go out and spend some time with adults after being stuck in the house with Taylor for the past two days. And tomorrow I get more adult time when we play in the first dart tourney of the season. That's all for tonight.
PS congrats to cousin Paul on the new baby.

Countdown To Uncle Jay's Homecoming

Well its 20 days and counting now. We are all very excited about this especially grandma (Sharon). I'm excited too. It'll be nice to talk to him on a more regular basis and not have to try and figure out what time it is in England and if he's awake or at work or whatever. Can't wait. Just one thing I'm worried about he thinks his job is to teach Taylor at least one swear word he worked very hard on that when he was home last. But I think I could beat him up so no worries.

potty training day 6

I never thought this process would be as slow as it is I knew it would be hard work but never thought this hard. I want to give up but I have still been consistent and I haven't lost my temper with her either. I don't know if this will work but I brought out one of the small potty's and closed the bedroom doors so she only has access to the living room and the play room make it easier to find pee if she does have an accident. If this proves to be successful I will put the other potty in our bedroom where she watches most of her cartoons. This way hopefully if she has to go in between the timed intervals maybe she will. I HOPE SHE WILL. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed hopefully this next week will be a little easier with access to more than one potty.
Her sleeping is way out of whack to I have no idea why so many changes its hard to pin point what it may be. Fabian has been working so much I think she misses her one on one time with him. Or maybe its cause we changed her room around so she has time to get use to it before Eastynn comes. Or it maybe the potty training I have no idea. It maybe she's just out growing her naps. Who knows. She is going to stay up till she falls asleep tonight I'm not putting her to bed. Hopefully that way she'll sleep in and we can skip the afternoon nap and put her down at a normal time tomorrow night. Hopefully that will fix that.

Potty Training Day 5

Well today potty training kind of sucked for me. I took her every 20 - 25 minutes but always missed the accidents but I could get her to stay on the potty by letting her watch her bubble machine we had some points where she was on the potty for 10 minutes. Anyway as soon as dad came home and put her on the potty SUCCESS she went pee so now she knows that if she pees she gets a sucker. Anyway today was good. Although I'm having a tough time sticking with it I want to give up so bad but we have persistent for a week no going back now. And tomorrow I'm on my own Fabian is going out of town probably will be on Friday too cause he won't be back till late I'm thinking. That's all for now.

Potty Day 4

Today the potty training was same as the previous days but had a few surprises. She didn't mind sitting on the potty as long as mommy took her, I think cause I get a little more excited can you imagine mommy being more excited than daddy. Just kidding. I was very surprised when I was reading her her potty books and pointed at the potty and asked her what it was and she said "potty" I was so happy about that. She also had an accident but as it was happening she said "ohoh" so she knows. Although it feels as if we are making absolutely no progress we I think we have made a lot from her perspective.
Tonight was the start of the dart season. We started of well. We got 9 out of 13 points. I had 2 wins and a loss. Fabian had 1 win 2 loss' and dad was lucky and had 3 wins. We also won the team game. But the sciatica kicked in bad tonight. No more keeping score for me.
that's all for now.

Babies Room

We got the girls room set up. I'm very happy with the crib it looks great with the mobile grandma and grandpa Huber bought for her, and good with the bedding set that grandma and grandpa Mellor used their HBC points for. Thanks Grandma's and Grandpa's.

Potty Training Day 3

Well it's day 3 and still no success, but on a good note we have strictly been following the number one rule of parenting when it comes to this issue. Be consistent. Every 15 - 20 minutes we make a trip to the potty, she gets one smartie for going and sitting on the potty and one for sitting on the potty for 2 full minutes. She'll be excited once she actually goes potty and realizes the reward is a sucker (lollipop) probably not the best for her teeth but I willing to try anything. Will keep you posted on the progress. That's it for Taylor.

Lamb Dilemma

We had a bit of a dilemma today. Anyone who knows Taylor knows that she usually has her lamb. It is a baby gund lamb that she got as a baby gift from who I can't remember, but its her favorite. She likes it so much that we bought her 4 more off the internet. One stays at grandma and grandpa Mellor's, one stays at grandma and grandpa Huber's, and one stays at Scott and Shauna's, this way if we forget it she's got one every where we go. We had two for our house but when we went to Calgary last month one was left behind, ohoh. Today she went outside and dropped one in some muddy water right before our nap. Daddy took it away to wash it and then the fit began. She cried so hard she passed out, something she hasn't done in so long that I thought she had out grown it. So we threw it in the washer and dryer but by this time we are already an hour past nap time, it was horrible probably the worst tantrum I have seen out of her. When she finally got her lamb and had a nap we decided we'd go on a hunt through Medicine Hat and find something as similar to her lamb as possible. And just as we we're leaving the mall we checked at Sears and there they were I swear they had a light shining on them. We found the exact ones at sears. We bought her 2 and I think we will make it a monthly investment to go and buy them so we will never have to go through that again.
On a positive note we had one little success on the potty today. Tomorrow its all on me, this weekend it was all Fabian doing the potty training so we will see how it goes.

Pregnancy pains

I really don't remember being in this much pain with Taylor. With Eastynn I have had morning sickness which is gone thank God. Tiredness which comes and goes. Headaches that also come and go, I loved being pregnant with Taylor I had hardly any headaches less than when I wasn't pregnant. And most recently what health link believes is sciatica, which is a nerve that goes from your back all the way down your leg in a very sharp pain. Lucky me. On Tuesday I go and get a shot for rh incompatibility. Just in case the baby has a different blood type than me it will protect us both. But on a happier not only 87 more days.

Let The Potty Training Begin

Today we, well Fabian actually, began potty training Taylor. We had no success but we will try again tomorrow. We have to start working hard with her on this because we definitely don't want her potty training her after the baby is born and we don't want to do it to close to the birth cause we don't want her taking steps backwards either. So it will probably be a hard couple of weeks or months. So wish us luck.

6 month check up

We had our sixth month check up today. It went great. I go to the maternity clinic so your suppose to get a different doctor every time you go and we ended up getting the same doctor till today. Not that the previous doctor was bad but it was nice to see a new doctor today. He was great which is weird cause he was my least favorite doctor while I was pregnant with Taylor. He teased Fabian a lot about this one being a girl, he told him with his family history, like him having a brother, and his dad having more brothers than sisters, our chances of having a girl are only 1 in 3. And we getting a girl. So we may try once more for a boy depending on how labor and delivery go. The last doctor I seen said Eastynn was going to be a big girl and this doctor put a lot of fears to rest and said she's most definitely not. The docs measure your tummy and apparently after 20 weeks you should measure the same in cm as you are in weeks (ex 20 weeks = 20 cm). With my other doctor I measured 26 cm at 22 weeks, today I measured 25 cm at 27 weeks. The doc said today sometimes doctors get confused with the top of the uterus and stomach muscles. He also told me to get as much rest as possible, which is nice cause he put some pressure on Fabian to let me get out of the house and have fun or let me have some naps. Not like I don't already. Good visit today.

Uncle Jay Countdown

31 more days till Uncle Jay is back.

Eastynn

Tomorrow is our six months check up. I'm scared there going to tell me she's the size of a small elephant. Just kidding. She is getting so big it is getting uncomfortable for me. Like this morning I sat down and there was so much pressure on my ribs she was laying right underneath them. And lately I have noticed if I'm sitting on the couch leaning to my left or right she is right under my ribs causing a lot of discomfort. And other times she is so far down it just hurts my bladder and what not I don't remember this with Taylor at all. And Eastynn kicks way harder then Taylor, I'm six months today and last night in the bath she was kicking so hard the water was rippling all the way to the end of the tub. Crazy kid. Well I'll let you know how the appointment goes tomorrow.

Feeling Better

Taylor is finally feeling better, we just finishes the last of her medicine this afternoon. Its kind of funny how you make your kids take there medicine till its all gone but I know for myself I don't ever do that. She is eating like a pig again last night she ate mashed potatoes one very healthy scoop, three large pieces of roast beef and half a yorkshire pudding. Not to mention she just about beat grandpa doing it. CRAZY. She is still whining an awful lot but I think her sleeping schedule still needs a little more time to get back on track.
that's all about Taylor.

Quote For My Girls To Live By

I watched an amazing movie last night called "Akeelha And The Bee." There was a great quote that I'd love my girls to live by, I hope that I can live by it as well.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we our powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give people permission to do the same."
This quote was the one used in the movie.

This quote here was written by a lady named Marianne Williamson but more well know by Nelson Mandela from his Inauguration Speech.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light--not our darkness--that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the universe. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within you. It's not just in some of us--it's in all of us, and as we let it shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."

I don't know but it seems as this quote could be applied by anyone anywhere during any part of there life.
