Family Fun Day

We decided it was time for a good family fun day.
I thought we were going to have a rough day Eastynn was super grumpy in the morning. Once we got downtown she was good though. She did however use a stroller the entire day.
We started off at the library for a Easter Egg Hunt. What you do is you get a sheet of paper and you go to every store on that sheet and you get a stamp and a chocolate egg. There was 50+ stores on the list so it took quite awhile we started at 10ish and finished at about 1:30. It was a lot of fun. Taylor got her face painted. We went for supper at subway and after everything was done we went to the old movie theater (a landmark in Medicine Hat) and watched a movie, me and Eastynn had a little nap and dad was doing the head bob thing.
Then we came home and started a fire in the fire pit in the backyard. We roasted some hotdogs and some marshmallows. Taylor and Eastynn ran around the pool throwing rocks into it. Taylor collected some lady bugs as well. We came in the house had a bath and watched a barbie movie and everyone fell asleep watching it. It was such a good evening. We wanted to participate in Earth hour but I think it was the only hour we actually had lights and tv's on as we were gone or outside the entire day.

Eastynn's Screening

Eastynn had a screening on Friday that was directed at children 3-5.
She started of by hiding behind my leg and not giving the lady anything. She warmed up just a touch, enough to get some words out of her. Eastynn talked some and it looks like she will to need some speech they are going to make a appointment and come to the house to assess her. She wasn't that great at following instructions but got more than I thought she would and when she didn't get what the lady was asking her I knew exactly where her mind was, she is a smart little cookie.
Then she was suppose to move on to the motor skills part and she'd have nothing to do with those ladies. I intially thought it was a preschool screening but it was more directed to kindergarten so I wasn't worried so we just left.
I did talk to the one lady and she suggested we put Eastynn in some preschool classes next year which we had every intention of doing. I also asked about the potty training and she suggested maybe taking her to the doctor to see if there is a problem or if Eastynn is just being stubborn. So if we make no progress after the Easter Break I will make a appointment. Hopefully all will be well.

Taylor's Weekend With Kit

Taylor got Kit for the weekend. Kit is a stuffed animal that all the kids in her class take turns taking home. She is so excited about this little puppy. I really wish she would be more excited about other things around the house.
On Thursday they played on the wii.
On Friday we went to McDonalds playland and then to Willows for a playdate.
On Saturday she took Kit on a Easter Egg Hunt downtown and then we took kit outside for a fire and to roast marshmallows and hotdogs.
Now Kit is just in the dryer I didn't want her to smell like campfire for when we take her back to school on Monday.

Taylor got her 2nd report card today.
She is improving a lot I think.

She's a good student.

Little Brooklynne's Birthday

On Saturday we went to little Brookie's birthday party.
It was another pj party again. Which I was all up for. We took the jumpy castle again. It was so beautiful outside. Brookie got lots of awesome gifts and everyone had fun.
There was so much food too. I thought we'd be there for 2 hours not 12 hours but it was so much fun.

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patty's day Taylor had to wear green to school so we went out and got her a nice little outfit. She had such a fun day but was very upset that she had missed school the day they made there leprechaun traps. It was funny she told me how the leprechaun came into the class and put the chairs on the tables and the crayons are all over the table. To funny. She came home and made a trap. She loved St Patty's day but was angry she could not catch a leprechaun.

3rd Annual Canadian Cancer Society Shoot For A Cure

Well a couple Satuday's ago was the 3rd Annual Canadian Cancer Society Shoot For A Cure. And what a success AGAIN. This year we had no one cut off the mullet or no one raise money to shave off their mustache and no one raise money for staying off the computer and still managed to make more money than previous years which is amazing. Our grand total this year was $5655. AMAZING.
We had I think 5 tables of door prizes and about 15-20 silent auction items.
The first year of the tourney we had 22 people, 2nd year was 32 people and this year was amazing 42 people.
In third place was Baxter and Carl.
In second place was Tracey and Craig.
In first place was Al and myself. My dad would have been so happy to see that.

Taylor's Dental Surgery

Today we FINALLY went in for Taylor's dental surgery. It was not as hard as we thought to keep her away from food and drinks this morning. She was pretty excited to go this morning. Once we got there the nurse took us to the back and just did some pre-op stuff like blood pressure and temperature. Then we went back to the waiting room to wait our turn. There was another little girl ahead of Taylor and when she came out she freaked right out screaming and crying really loud. Thankfully Taylor didn't even clue into what was going on. We went in and it took Taylor only a few minutes before she was out. When she started falling asleep her chest was really going up and down brought back memories of when my dad was having problems breathing but still knew it was very different. Then I was sent back to the waiting room it was the longest hour and a half ever. Thank god for a blackberry. When she came out she was whimpering but not screaming or anything. She was very disoriented, so I just held her they made us wait so they could watch her vitals and then sent us home. I am still not sure how many cavities they filled but one was beyond repair so they did have to pull one, she does have 4 silver fillings for sure not sure if there is any others. She also had to have a iv which was funny when she seen the cotton after she looked at it then did a double take with the look of what the hell is that. She also had a Tylenol suppository put in which she doesn't know about. Since we have been home she has come a long way she is no longer crying and eating poor kid must have been starving.

Another Day At The Park

We are totally taking advantage of this beautiful weather.
Today we went to a park in Southridge its a amazing little park. The ground is all made of recycled tires which makes for minimal scrapes and bruises, but not for Taylor today, she had a rough go at the park but shook it off pretty quick when I asked her if we should go home. She was wanting to play hide and seek and turn around and went to run under the bridge but misjudged the height and ran right into it with the top of her head and some how caught her nose both which are a little swollen and bruised. She has also been complaining about her teeth over the last couple days, so thank goodness they are getting fixed on Thursday.
Eastynn loves the park. I chased her all day she really likes when she is chased. She also likes the swing but not to high. She is not a fan of the slide for some reason. She will go down if I hold her hand though. She likes screaming daddy look at me, generally cause he is with Taylor and I am with her.

We also cleaned a little today. I made the girls chore charts and have decided maybe its time to give them a allowance instead of buying them everything they want I am hoping this works.

Beautiful Weekend with my Beautiful Family

Last night we didn't do much. We watch Alice in Wonderland, very weird movie not at all like I remember as a child. While we had some pop and popcorn, Fabian had a short little nap in that movie. Then the girls had baths while Fabian went to the store for a treat. Then we watched Mulan, while Fabian and Taylor slept I sent him to bed. Eastynn having had a long nap after skating was no where near tired and so we watched Tinkerbell. She finally fell asleep around like 1ish.
Today after lunch we decided to go for a walk down a Strathcona and ended up at the park. The girls had a blast and it is so beautiful outside. After that we went and got the girls a slush a fun day. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Skating For School

I know I haven't been writing but not much has been going on. Or at least with Taylor being in school I don't really know what she does much there. She has been on a couple field trips. Last week she went to the dentist office. This week she went to Windmill Garden Center where we had our Christmas pictures done. Next week is the firs station.
This week on Friday they also went skating, they are going next Friday as well I am not sure if she will go next Friday depending on how she feels from the dental surgery.
Anyway, she still is not very good at skating but by the end of the hour she was doing much better. I really don't know how to teach her. She will get it eventually though and she had fun....I think.
Eastynn on the other hand HATED it. She was cold and miserable sitting on the bench waiting.

Another Boring Week

It has been another boring week with the Huber's.

Eastynn has been going on the potty more and more by herself but still no where close to being trained. I booked her a appointment on March 26, for preschool screening. I hope she becomes potty trained soon cause I want her going to preschool in the fall. She will be able to go to the same school as Taylor which will be nice.

Taylor has been going to school and doing lots of learning. She has not been listening really good. I guess me getting them to clean the toy room and bedroom is just to much for them. They do have a list of chores and the others aren't so bad for them to accomplish. Taylor's are to put the shoes away, empty her backpack, and put her dishes in the sink after supper. Eastynn has to put her diapers in the garbage and dishes in the sink.

Fabian has another 6 month check up tomorrow in Calgary. Papa Huber started his chemo on Tuesday and when we talked on Thursday he was still feeling pretty good so I hope he continues to feel good.

As for me I went to the dentist on Friday cause my TMJ (teeth clenching basically) has been affecting me in more ways then I ever could have thought. It has been really bad lately giving me headaches that have kept me in bed 3 times in the last two weeks. Here is what got me at the minimum 4 years of shoulder pain (I think I remember having it before Taylor too) and its related to my tmj. My headaches I have had for 24 years could be due to tmj. I am not even sure how I feel about this. I am relieved we have finally figured it out but disgusted it took so long. I have to continue to wear my splint (mouth-guard) at night I have been putting it in a little earlier if I have a headache, my jaw hurts, or my shoulder hurts. I also I am going to start seeing a chiropractor. So hope this is the beginning of me starting to feel better.
I also played darts yesterday lost my first two matches 0 0 and then never lost a match after that. At the end of the day I was tied for 2,3,4th so we had a three way play off and I ended up winning the play off to get second. Which I am super happy with I have been really struggling with my darts lately so its nice to know I still got it. The girl who won is the Canadian Champ and can beat almost any guy in Canada so I can deal with that loss.

Friday night Fabian and I were able to go for supper to our favorite restaurant for our anniversary amazing as usual.

Boring Week

This week has been very very uneventful. I came home from provincials on Monday night. Tuesday was alright Fabian missed the morning cause he wasn't feeling well, he had some sort of inner ear infection. Wednesday I was awfully sick barely getting out of bed, all day long. Thursday Fabian was the sick one again not getting out of bed all day I went to doctor cause me headache was still so bad I got to see Dr. Foley he said is was tmj basically a jaw issue from me clenching my teeth and my jaw clicking. Then back to me on Friday.
So Taylor's week off school was very uneventful for her thank goodness she was home though she did a really good job of taking care of Eastynn while we were sick. She finally after a month and lots of whining got her toy room clean. so she is begging to have a play date now but I do believe it is already.
Hopefully this week will be more fun for them I may take them swimming sometime this week.

Our Little Reader

Taylor has become the reader lately (or good a memorizing the books). At school they send home a new book every Monday and they are suppose to read them every night. She is getting so much better, although she gets distracted very easily which is no surprise for a 5 year old.
Today she had a doctors appointment to see if she could have surgery which is a go. After wards we went to pick up a birthday present for her little friend and I got her and her little friend a early reader book they are very cool. This one is a disney pixar book it has 5 books in it, which is great I will read them to her over and over and hopefully by summer she will be able to read the book to mommy.
Eastynn has been being stubborn as always every night she tells me she is going to use the potty in the morning and every morning she refuses. On the other hand we have her going to bed at 8pm not necessarily going to sleep though.

Peter Pan

When we went to Stockholm for Christmas I was talking to Grandma Huber about theater. I was telling her how I want to take them to Peter Pan and she said she would buy the tickets if we went. We wanted to take her up on that offer so we went today.
Me, Fabian, the girls, and Grandma Mellor went. I dragged Grandma Mellor cause she loves theater and hasn't been in a very long time. Everyone enjoyed it a lot. Eastynn could have dealt with it being about 20 minutes shorter but other than that it was great. After the play you could have your picture taken with a cast member and my dad was good friends with "Captain Hook" but the girls were terrified of him, I guess that means he did his job.
After we went for supper it was a great day with the family can't wait for more kid friendly musical theater.

Olympics

Not this Saturday but the previous Saturday. Fabian took the girls to Olympic ceremonies at the tepee. The girls got some fun stuff and had a good time with there dad.
Today me, mom, and the girls went to the radio station. There was the torch still there and people were able to take pictures with the torch. I think this is so cool and special to be able to do this.
I remember when I was a little girl lining the street and watching the torch go by this year I got to make my girls a part of this very cool.

Crazy Hair Day/Special Helper and Movie Night

On Friday was crazy hair day I did my best on Taylor's hair added some colored hair pieces when I went to pick her up and she definitely had the craziest hair in her class. It was also a special day Taylor got to be the special helper which means she had her show and tell, she took her jewelery box she got for Christmas. She loves that day when she gets to be special helper and the last time she was I got to go this time unfortunately Eastynn had a cold and needed more attention than usual and my mom's shoulder is just to sore to be able to give her the attention she needed. That's okay next time I will go.
That night was a movie night at the school we went and watched Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. The girls had a blast although Taylor barely sat but she never gets to just hang out with her friends.

Taylor's Dentist Appointment

On Wednesday Taylor had a dentist appointment. She has been complaining of a sore mouth for quite awhile. At first we thought it was cause she didn't want to eat supper, but soon found out it wasn't. She was all geared up for the dentist appointment. Although her mouth hurt pretty bad I even had to pick her up early from school.
The entire family went I wanted Eastynn to see its not so scary so that she can soon have an appointment. She was very interested in what was going on the dentist sent the girls to go pick out a toy. The dentist told us that Taylor has many cavities and it is best to just put her under to get that done. So she will be undergoing dental surgery on March 11th. Other than that it has been very quite around here.

The 2 Day Drive Home

We left Sask on Jan 1. It was very hard on the girls and a little hard on Grandma too.
First off the van didn't start we should have taken that as a sign. We hit the road and no real problems till after Regina. After Regina there was some blowing snow which really wasn't to bad slowed us down a little bit though. Even when we hit Swift Current it wasn't so bad but the second we left city limits all hell broke loose. We decided to turn back. It was not worth us risking our lives to get home when we wanted. We stayed the night at a motel and hit the road in the morning. The roads were much better no real issues at all.
The last couple days we have been trying to tidy up and we did a really good job of catching up on the cleaning my goals were just getting the toy room clean and the bedding done and its done.
Now to start on all the good stuff. Back to school and work in the morning for Taylor and daddy. Mommy starts her workout routine and hopefully get a lot more cleaning done and a lot less time on the computer. Lets hope I can stick to this.

Happy New Year

On New Years Eve we went to a wedding, Grandma Huber's best friend Lois' son got married.
Just Grandma and Taylor went to the ceremony, with Calvin, Brooklynn, and Luke.
We all went to the supper which was delicious.
Taylor made some friends, Eastynn made a enemy a little guy there who was also 3. He scared her a little and there was no turning back for her, she was also very tired which may have had something to do with it. Taylor's little friend Max was adorable, he was only 2 I really hope they can see each other again. They even got a few professional photos done together.
Although I didn't stay to long cause Eastynn passed out and I wasn't feeling to great it was nice while we were there. I did spend my night with Brooklynn, Eastynn and Luke, although Luke was sleeping poor little guy was just burnt out and teething. Which was really nice too, Brooklynn and I rarely get to just hang out.
Grandma, Papa, Calvin, Fabian, and Taylor stayed. Taylor apparently danced the night away I am really sad I missed that though.
